Find below some Frequently asked Questions which will be of help to the Player as well as the Parents.
01- Who can play on the Junior Golf Tour?
Anyone can apply for a membership and play in our tournaments as long as he/she is at least 7 years old. The maximum permitted age for competing in the LMJGT tournament’s is 17 years and minimum 5, if you are going to turn 18 on the last day of the event , you are ineligible to play in an LMJGT event.
02- How does one become a member?
Membership applications are accepted online by visiting our website or received by email.
03- Why does the form ask me my age?
Because your age on the last day of the event will determine the category that you will be playing in. For example, if you turn 18 on the last day, you are playing in an event than you are ineligible but incase you are 10 but on the last day of the tournament you turn 11 , in this case you will be playing in the 11-12 years category and not the 10-11 years category.
04- What is the membership charge?and its validity?
Membership for the Junior Golf Tour is Rs.2000.This membership fee is valid till you are eligible to play the Tour.
05- What is the mode of payment?
Presently the option of paying membership and tournament fee is through cheque/DD or cash. The
cheque/DD should be made in favor of “Pro Golf Marketing Pvt Ltd” .
06- What do I get for signing up for the junior golf tour membership?
In addition to high-quality junior golf competitions, you get a LMJGT pitch
repair marker, LMJGT golf bag tag, LMJGT belt clip and LMJGT cap clip.
07- How do I enter for a Junior Golf Tour tournament?
Once you have become a member of the Junior Tour, you will receive booklet with all entry
forms at your given address and also you will receive forms via email from us.
08- What are the age categories on the LMJGT? Are there separate categories for boys and girls?
Yes, there are separate categories for boys and girls on the LMJGT. The categories are Boys and Girls are 5-6,7-8,9-10,11-12,13-14 & 15-17
09- Can I play in a LMJGT tournament without becoming a member?
Only members of the LMJGT are eligible to play in the LMJGT tournaments.
10- What is the Format of the LMJGT tournament?
Stroke play & Stableford over 9/18 holes for different age-groups.
11- On what basis are entries accepted for LMJGT events? And what is the maximum number of players allowed to play an event.
Entries are accepted from LMJGT members on first come first served basis, each event will have 60 participants
12- Does a player have to have a handicap to play the LMJGT Tour?
Player who does not have a handicap will have to get a score card verified from the Club Secretary where he/she plays golf, or get a note from their golf coach.These players will not be eligible for Net prizes. If a player with no handicap is holding up play he will be requested to limit his shots to 10 a hole.
13- What happens if a tournament is oversubscribed?
In the event of a tournament being oversubscribed, names will be put on the waiting list. In case of cancellations names will be added on to the confirmed list on a first come first serve basis, players who still do not make it to the confirmed list will receive a complete refund.
14- What is the cancellation and refund policy?
A player can withdraw his name from a tournament before the registration closes. If it becomes absolutely necessary for a player to withdraw name from a tournament in which his/her name is on the confirmed list, he/ she should write an email to the tournament committee giving reason for inability to play. If the request for withdrawal is accepted, player’s entry fee will be refunded after deducting a sum Rs.200 against administrative charges.If a player fails to cancel / withdraw entry before the close of registration or does not show up for a tournament, the player will not be entitled to any refund. If a player has more than TWO NO SHOWS for a season, he / she will not be allowed to sign up for any LMJGT golf tournament for the season. If a player, due to any reason withdraws after teeing off for a tournament is not entitled to any refund.
15- Are caddies allowed in a LMJGT tournament?
Yes! Caddies are allowed in all LMJGT tournaments and parents are also allowed to caddy..
16- Are parents / spectators allowed to walk on the golf course?
Yes parents / spectators are allowed to walk on the golf course provided they walk on the sides of the fairway, maintain distance from the players, do not give advice and not disturb the players.
17- Are mobile phones allowed on the golf course?
Players can carry mobile phone’s to call referee on the golf course only, anyone who is found violating this rule will be DISQUALIFIED. Parents / spectators should keep their mobile phones in silent mode.
